Sunday's Thought

"For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life."  John 3:16

One of the simplest, most basic, and probably most famous (popular), memorized, and used (ads, bumper stickers, T-shirts, etc.) Scripture in the Bible.  Why?  My thought is that it sums up the truth of the Christian faith in the simplest form.  Believe.  Repent. Everlasting Life.

My faith is a simple faith- I believe. Sometimes, I doubt and wonder as I am human- but I return to that simple faith and believe.  Simple as that.  I can't explain the deep theological teachings of the Bible, but I can have faith.  Simple as that.

Sunday's Thought

"Stained Glass in Church- Dominican Republic"
Lately, it seems, the world around me has been going crazier and crazier and more chaotic as the days pass.   Sometimes, it gets on my nerves and I get a bit frustrated with circumstances or situations which I really do not have any control.  I'm sure these things happen to everyone.

As I write today, the Scripture:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:15

comes to my mind.  Obviously, at first, that's hard to commit to heart and practice.  But, meditating on it.  Thinking about it.  Trying to put it to practice in your everyday life and especially those situations where you do not understand what's going on, eventually leads you to walking with Him in a daily peace.  After all, trusting Him- what better way to face this life?

An Email Poem

I received the following poem in an email this week. I do not know who wrote this, otherwise I would give credit.  I don't normally share something that I cannot contribute credit to the author, but this is so good, I had to share.
"The Tree at Great Falls"

Me (in a tizzy) : God, can I ask you something?

GOD: Sure. ...

Me: Promise you won't get mad? ...

GOD: I promise.

Me (frustrated): Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?

GOD: What do you mean?

Me: Well I woke up late,

GOD: Yes

Me: My car took forever to start Me (growling): At lunch, they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait

GOD: Hmmmm..

Me: On the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call

GOD: All right

Me (loudly): And to top it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to soak my feet in my foot massager and relax, but it wouldn't work. Nothing went right today! Why did you do that?

GOD: Well let me see..... the death angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that.

Me (humbled): Oh...

GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that might have hit you if you were on the road

Me (ashamed): ............

GOD: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work

Me (embarrassed): Oh.....

GOD: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give a false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered

Me (softly): I see God

GOD: Oh and that foot massager, it had a short that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.

Me: I'm sorry God.

GOD: Don't be sorry, just learn to trust me.........in all things, the good and the bad

Me: I WILL trust you God

GOD: And don't doubt that my plan for your day is always better than your plan

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, thank you for everything today.

GOD: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I love looking after my children.

Sunday's Thought

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.  (John 13:34 ESV)

My thought today is geared towards showing love to those you love- more than just on Valentine's day, a birthday or other special occasion but as often as you can.

Last year at this time, I was grieving the loss of my mother. This year the memories of that day flood my mind and I grieve the loss of a dear friend.  I've yet to write a blog in her memory because I need time to form my words.

Before she died, we spent time together and always said "I Love You!" even after I was married, we shared those three words.  As she became ill and eventually passed away, I remember kissing her and say "I Love You" not knowing it'd be the last time I would see her alive.

Sometimes, verbalizing "I Love You" is difficult because of the situation.  For example, I have a few male friends that would not appreciate it.  One of those guy things, you know. But, there are ways to show you care.  Be sure and do it.
A Baptist Church

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.  (Romans 12:10 ESV)

Introducing Kona- PetConnect Rescue

I had the privilege to photograph Kona this past Saturday.  From the moment, I got there until I left, he was a happy dog, ready to play and full of energy. He would make a great dog for someone looking for a medium-sized one.

For adoption info., please go to, www.petconnectrescue.org.  Here's a few images of him:

Sunday's Thought

"Statue of Christ, Puerto Plata, D. R."
I acknowledged my sin
to You,
And my iniquity I have
not hidden.
I said, "I will confess my
transgressions to the Lord,"
And You forgave the iniquity
of my sin. (Psalm 32:5)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1 John 1:9).

I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. (Psalm 7:17)
