Sunday's Thought

    (C) Allen Pearson

"There is therefore no
condemnation for those who
are in Christ Jesus."

- Romans 8:1

The most awesome thing in this life is knowing that come what may, no matter what it is, Jesus Christ loves me. God loves me. It has been a difficult concept to understand.  But, it's the truth.

I was always the geek, the nerd, the last one to be picked for a sport that I didn't want to play anyways in P.E.classes or at any other event, the one who is overlooked because "he won't mind," the quietest and the introvert! Along with that, I had an analytical mind which causes me to analyze everything in life. I don't remember being picked on so much but I have seen many others like me who were constantly picked on by others, sometimes even beat up simply for just being themselves.

I thought, and hoped, it would change in my adult years as I knew kids could be cruel. Though I am not nearly as introverted as I once was, I am still that way and often keep to myself.

Having gone through this life with its experiences, being the awesome guy that I am, but seeing how others have treated me, I "sometimes" wonder how Jesus would be different than others. It can be difficult to understand how God or Jesus, someone you cannot see, loves when those you can see choose you last. Yet He does.

But, it's true. Jesus loves you for all you are, despite what you may have done, and whether you are the geek or nerd or the most popular person with a high IQ. He accepts us for who we are! No need to think about becoming a better person first, or quitting that sin or some other sin first. Jesus will change, help you to change, whatever may need changing and in the most awesome ways imaginable.

Over the years, I've kept my focus on having faith in God that He loves me. I have to admit, I sometimes wonder why, but I return to the faith that He does. When I look back over my life, I can see where God has loved me, taken care of me and done what was best for me.

So what keeps you from following Jesus? From giving your life to Him? If you would like to accept Christ's awesome gift to us, the Gift of Salvation- eternal life, please read and pray through the following-

Admit that you are a sinner, just like everyone else born into this world, until we  confess to Jesus Christ and ask His forgiveness:

"(23) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (24) and are justified
by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
- Romans 3:23-24, ESV

"(23) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Romans 6:23, ESV

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ:

(16) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16, ESV

Confess your sins in a prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ:

(9) "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. "
 - Romans 10:9, ESV

(13) "For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”"
 - Romans 10:13, ESV

"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life.
I believe You died and rose from the grave to make me a new creation
and to prepare me to dwell in your presence forever.
Jesus, come into my life and take control,
forgive my sins and save me. I place my trust in You alone
for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life."
