Timeless Thursday: Garden Perspectives! "Bumble Bee and Purple Cone Flower"

"Bumble Bee and Purple Cone Flower"
(C) Allen Pearson
One of my favorite adventures in photography is capturing images of bees while they are gathering nectar. Obviously, I have to be careful not to get stung. With the black bumble bees, if I keep out of their way by paying attention to where they are, don't harass or get too close, they generally do not bother me. However, the honey bees are a different story. With honeybees, you have to be extremely careful.

I used a macro lens on my Pentax camera to catch this close-up image of this bee. I get as close as I am comfortable and not interfering with the bee and its activities. I will stay back enough to allow it to take flight to its next nectar source!

The "Bumble Bee and Purple Cone Flower" is available on printed products including traditional quality archival papers you can frame, metal, canvas, standouts, posters, and notecards. To learn more, please visit my Garden Perspectives Gallery.
